This work address the main concepts of W-skarns mineral deposits and their correlation with the geophysical contrasts to obtain new targets for exploration. The study area is located in the Seridó region, delimited by the cities of Currais Novos, Cruzeta, Pícui, Pedra Lavada and Santa Luzia, belonging to the state of Rio Grande do Norte (RN). The objective of this work is to investigate and evaluate potential areas for the occurrence of mineralizations in skarns, investigating the behavior and distribution of igneous rocks in the region associated with this mineral deposit. The geophysical data used refer to the Aerogeophysical Paraíba - Rio Grande do Norte Project (1092) carried out by the Geological Survey of Brazil (CPRM). The geophysical maps generated throughout the work describe the geological behavior of the study area based on the physicochemical properties of the materials and rocks inserted in it, where the gammaspectrometric maps of the K, U and Th and Ternary channels highlighted the main lithologies that may be associated with occurrences of W elements in the region of interest. Geophysical methods enhanced their importance in studies of metallogenic systems, providing subsidies for geological research and exploration of new discussions in Seridó belt.
