dc.description.resumo	O campo magnético da Terra apresenta variações abrangendo um espectro relativamente grande em período/frequência. As variações de curto período têm origem externa e podem ser da ordem de frações de segundos, enquanto as variações de longo período têm origem interna e período superior a meses. A variação diurna (Sd) na região equatorial diverge bastante das similares obtidas em diferentes latitudes. Os dados utilizados neste estudo foram obtidos em seis locais situados em diferentes latitudes e distribuídos perpendicularmente ao dip equatorial (I=0). Um deles está situado exatamente no Equador Magnético (DIP=0). Destes, 5 (cinco) são estações magnéticas e o outro é Observatório Magnético de Tatuoca (TTB), situado na mesma região. O objetivo deste trabalho é comparar os registros da Variação Diurna (Sd) obtidos nas estações magnéticas situadas acima e abaixo do dip equatorial (I=0). Foram analisadas as variações das componentes horizontal (H) e vertical (Z) do campo geomagnético total (F) e os correspondentes índices de caracterização geomagnética (Kp e Ap).	por
dc.description.abstract	The Earth's magnetic field shows variations covering a relatively large range in period / frequency. Changes in external source are short and may be on the order of fractions of seconds, while the variation over time and are internally sourced than months. The diurnal variation (Sd) in the equatorial region differs greatly from Similar obtained at different latitudes. The data used in this study were obtained at six sites located at different latitudes and distributed perpendicularly to the equatorial dip (I = 0). One of them is located exactly in Ecuador Magnetic (PID = 0). Of these, 5 (five) stations are magnetic and the other is Tatuoca Magnetic Observatory (TTB), located in the same region.
